Just what is the difference between a pergola and an arbor?
Well, a pergola is defined as:
An archway in a garden or park consisting of a framework covered with trained climbing or trailing plants
Whereas an arbor is defined as:
A shady garden alcove with sides and a roof formed by trees or climbing plants trained over a wooden framework
When comparing the definitions, there doesn’t seem to BE much difference. An archway or an alcove, both have a framework that is covered by plants. So call it whatever you want, but put one in your garden for beauty and a place to repose while enjoying your surroundings.
