Greenhouse Structures Book Review

Everybody who loves to garden probably secretly, or not so secretly, dreams of having a greenhouse.  That’s what I liked about this book, Greenhouse Structures: How To Get the Hobby Greenhouse of Your Dreams; it’s got all kinds of information on different kinds of greenhouses, and how to choose one.

Let’s face it, a greenhouse is the only way most people can grow plants year round, aside from a few house plants.  Granted, some people live where gardening is possible year round, but even then, there is a lot more control of the environment in a greenhouse.

For instance, you can control how much water your plants get.  Sure, you can water plants outside, but it’s still not as exact as what you can do in a greenhouse.

And even in warmer climates, there are some plants that need the controlled environment of a greenhouse.

There is just all kinds of information for people interested in learning about greenhouses.  You can figure out just what is the best greenhouse for your money, and the best way to get it built.

There is even a chapter on window greenhouses.  These are attractive, but I find they aren’t as cheap as you might think!  The greenhouse has to fit the space you have for it, or somehow be fitted.  The chapters on mini and portable greenhouses might be better for people seeking a low-cost option that is easy to set-up.

Another option discussed in the book is buying a used greenhouse.  It has some good points on the good and the bad of buying a used greenhouse.  If the price was right, it looks like it could be a worthwhile way to go!

I think this is a worthwhile book.  It gives a good overview on the subject of greenhouses, making it easier for a person to make informed decisions on the best greenhouse for them.  It also has a chapter with resources, including where to get free greenhouse plans if you so desire.
